Get to Know Me
I grew up in Rogers, Minnesota, and played soccer at Gustavus Adolphus College. During college, I spent a semester abroad in Copenhagen as part of a healthcare policy program that took me across Europe. A particularly impactful day on a labor and delivery floor in Poland—watching physicians deliver excellent care despite having limited resources—confirmed for me that medicine was the path I wanted to pursue.
I went on to attend medical school at Washington University in St. Louis. Very early in my OB-GYN rotation, I was drawn to the specialty’s unique combination of obstetrics, surgery, continuity of care, and the privilege of supporting patients during some of the most significant moments in their lives.
When Not at Work
While in medical school, I met my wife, now also an OBGYN, and we stayed at Wash University for my residency, then moved to Michigan for hers. I spent four years on faculty at the University of Michigan, gaining invaluable experience in both patient care and medical education.
Eventually, we had the opportunity to return to Minnesota, one of the most meaningful steps in my career that truly felt like coming home.
Outside of work, my wife and I are raising two sons along with a dog and two cats. I love to cook and bake, explore new restaurants, cycle, play soccer, and spend as much time as possible at the lake with family and friends.
