Get to Know Me

I was born in Minneapolis but grew up in Indianapolis.  My parents moved back to the Twin Cities when I graduated from high school, and I joined my family back here in 2008 at the completion of my OBYGN residency.  I love the Twin Cities for all its beautiful parks, lakes and abundant outdoor activities, while also offering great theater, concerts, and restaurants.

I wanted to become a doctor from a young age.  Both of my parents had a lot of medical issues growing up so from as young as I can remember, I had a lot of exposure to doctors, hospitals, and medicine in general.   I saw first-hand how important the doctor-patient relationship is.  In school, I loved and excelled at biology and chemistry, and I loved learning about how the human body works.  It is that combination of science balanced with the art of taking care of people, especially when they are really in need, that called me to medicine.   I truly could never see myself doing anything else and feel so privileged and blessed to do what I do.

I believe in a true partnership with patients and strive to make sure my patients are fully informed and comfortable with any recommended treatments, whether medical or surgical, even when this takes extra time.  I also truly try to meet patients where they are at and recognize that changes over time.   Taking care of patents and being there for some of the most important moments of their lives inspires me every day and fills me up with love and joy.

My special interests include high risk obstetrics, the evaluation and treatment of infertility, management of abnormal pap smears, and non-invasive gynecologic surgery.

When Not at Work

When I’m not at work, I live in Eden Prairie with my husband, two daughters, and our energetic dog.  When I am not busy spending time with them, I enjoy running, volleyball, cooking, and reading.
