Precision Health Testing
The DEXA, or "Dual X-ray Absorptiometry", is a quick and pain free scan that provides you with an in-depth analysis of your fat tissue, lean mass and bone density. Body composition matters in weight loss because it provides a clearer picture of what your body is actually losing. Simply focusing on weight loss can be misleading. For example, losing muscle instead of fat can slow down your metabolism and make it harder to keep the weight off in the long run. By focusing on body composition, you can ensure that the weight you lose is primarily fat, not muscle. Improving body composition can also lead to better health outcomes. Lower body fat percentages are associated with reduced risks of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and other health issues. Additionally, a higher muscle mass can improve strength, mobility, and overall physical performance.
